Nominations Due By Wednesday, September 15
Business of the Year Award
Punxsutawney is home to many vibrant businesses that play an important role in the overall vitality of the community by providing for the needs of residents, supplying jobs, turning local dollars, and supporting civic and social causes.
To call attention to the importance of these businesses and to recognize the owners’ hard work, proficiency, and dedication to their community, the Chamber of Commerce annually names one business to receive the Business of the Year Award.
Nominees for the award will be sought from Chamber members and from the Board of Directors based on the criteria inside. Nominee information must be received at the Chamber by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2021. The winner will be chosen from among the nominees by the Chamber board of directors.
The award will be presented at the Chamber Annual Mixer at Gobblers Knob on October 5th. The winner will receive an award to display in his/her place of business and the company name will be added to a plaque of award winners on display in the Chamber office.
Outstanding Contribution to the Community Award
We are looking for an organization who works hard and well to improve the quality of life of the community as a whole. They might be a group who’s always there and willing to do whatever has to be done to keep things going. Whatever they do, they think of the community before themselves: they’re committed to making things better for everyone. They rarely think of what they do as being unusual or praiseworthy. It’s just part of their definition of being good citizens.
